History

The Fellowship Center (TFC) is a private, not-for-profit 501(c) 3 organization. Established in 1963, TFC grew from the idea of one alcoholic helping another. Several members of the Escondido recovery community worked with non-alcoholic civic-minded leaders to transform a single-family home into place alcoholics and addicts in need of help could change and thrive.

More than 50 years later, our residential services have grown and changed multiple times. However, the core elements of mutual self-help and experiential learning have remained the cornerstone of The Fellowship Center’s success.
