FAMILY RECOVERY PROGRAM
Building Communities One Family At a Time
The Fellowship Center’s Family Recovery Program offers resident families and loved ones affected by alcoholism and drug addiction with opportunities to engage in education, recreation, and community resources. Our Family Recovery Program (FRP) is designed to improve the likelihood for long-term recovery and to break the intergenerational chain of addiction in the family.
“Family” is defined as whoever our participants consider to be “family”.
The program offers weekly educational groups for residents and loved ones, ages 18 and up. This includes learning more about the “disease” concept of addiction, teaching non-violent communication and listening skills, with a focus on empathy and healing.
The Fellowship Center hosts a monthly alcohol-and-drug-free event to encourage family fun. Examples of these events include: Family BBQ’s, Halloween Pumpkin-Carving & Costume Contest, Family Dance-Off, Christmas Float & Holiday Parade. Our Resident Council is very involved in planning and supporting Program Family Events and Activities.
Family members are encouraged to collaboratively support each other and the recovering addict or alcoholic. We assist families to develop realistic goals for change that have meaning and create a new vision for the family.
